Skincare ingredient checker
Skincare labels are written in INCI names — the long Latin-sounding ingredient lists that are hard to read in the shop. Clove turns that list into a plain-English report: what each flagged ingredient is, why it’s flagged, and the source behind the flag.
Clove doesn’t give skincare a score or a grade. You get an ingredient report, so you can decide for yourself.
Check a label now
Photograph the ingredient list on the bottle — Clove reads it and builds the report.
Three ways to check
Photograph the label. Point your camera at the ingredient list and Clove reads the text for you — handy in the shop.
Paste or type the ingredients. Copy the list from a product page and check it here.
Scan the barcode or search by name. If the product is in Open Beauty Facts, Clove pulls up its ingredient list straight away — start from the home screen.
What the report tells you
Each flagged ingredient comes with a short explanation and a named source — for example an EU Cosmetics Regulation entry or a published safety assessment. Flags are informational: they tell you what’s known about an ingredient, not whether a product is “good” or “bad”. A small number of sources are still being verified; those are listed openly on the beta notes page.

No account, no server-side history. Your checks stay on your device, and you can turn label reading off at any time. Details are on the privacy page.
